movu.

Pricing

A fair price, worked out the same way every time.

No haggling on the phone. The app prices every request from the distance, the vehicle and the load, shows it before you request, and you pay the driver directly when the trip is done.

Pricing

One price, shown before you request. Paid straight to the driver.

Movu never holds your money. The app works out a fair fare from four parts, you see it, and you pay the driver in cash or EcoCash when the trip is done.

Base fare

Covers the driver coming to you and loading time.

Distance

Per-km rate scaled by the vehicle. Bakkies cost less per km than cranes.

Tonnage

A small per-tonne charge on the weight you enter. Zero for passenger trips.

Where the money goes

The inDrive-style money model: direct payment, prepaid commission.

01

Customer pays the driver

Cash or EcoCash to the driver's own number, at the price agreed in the app. Movu never holds the money and there is no in-app card payment for trips.

02

Driver keeps a prepaid balance

Drivers top up a small Movu balance with EcoCash through Paynow. A minimum balance is needed to go online so commissions are always covered.

03

Commission comes off the balance

When a trip completes, Movu deducts its commission (about 10% of the transport fee) from the driver's balance. Any extra the customer offered stays 100% with the driver.

04

No surprises either side

The customer sees one price. The driver sees the fare and the commission before accepting. Rates are set centrally and published in the app.

Worked example

A 12 km bakkie trip with 0.8 t of furniture: base $20.00+ distance (12 × $1.10× 0.60 = $7.92) + weight (0.8 × $4.50= $3.60) = $31.52. The customer pays the driver $31.52. Movu deducts about $3.15 from the driver's prepaid balance. If the customer raised the fare by $2 to get a driver faster, the driver keeps the full $2.
